Eva Virginia Morris



Sumter, SC…Mrs. Eva Virginia Morris age 99 years old from Hebron, Maryland passed away peacefully on 19 March 2018, after a brief illness, at National Health Care Nursing Home in Sumter, South Carolina.

She was born 06 March 1919 in Rockawalkin, near Hebron, Maryland, to the late John R. and Lear Elizabeth (Horsey) Coulbourn. She was the last surviving child of the eleven siblings born to John and Elizabeth Coulbourn.

She was married to the late Edward Lee Morris of Hebron, Maryland who died December 1974. She worked numerous years for Delmarva Packaging Company afterwards finishing a 20 plus year career with Perdue Poultry Factory in Salisbury, Maryland before retirement. Not only to fully retire and sit at home, she continued to serve her local community by working with handicapped children at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

She is survived by her only child Howdy L. Morris and his wife Melissa, of Sumter, South Carolina, Howdy’s first wife Regina Lee Morris of Newport News, Virginia, mother of Eva’s granddaughters Leda Malonda Balmer-Morris, Stafford, Virginia, Kyndra DeLynn Morris, Severn, Maryland, and grandson James Edward Lee Morris of Newport News, Virginia. She also leaved behind seven great grandchildren, Christian, Cainan, Cameron, JaTai, JaMaal, Aiden, and Lireal Brooke. Being from her large Coulbourn family of siblings, she also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a former member of St. Luke Methodist Church, Hebron MD where she served as a faithful member and an usher.

There will be a brief Memorial Service for Mrs. Morris on 7 April 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Luke Methodist Church, 8034 Levin Deshiell Road, Hebron, Maryland to be celebrated by her local community and the John R. Coulbourn family also.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockawalkin Cemetery Fund and sent to Saint Luke Methodist Church, 8034 Levin Deshiell Road, Hebron, MD 21830.
