William Raymond Swick Jr.



Sumter, SC ….. William Raymond Swick Jr., age 75, beloved husband of the late Lois Eileen Williams Swick, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

Born in Stonewood, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Raymond Swick Sr. and Emma Etta Queen Swick. Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing and was a huge Nascar fan. He loved to tell stories and socialize with people. Bill owned and operated a candy store at the Sumter County Flea Market for many years and was affectionately known as “The Candy Man”. Bill’s true joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grand children and great grandchildren. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving is his son, William Raymond Swick III of Wedgefield; two daughters, Rebecca McKnight and her husband Jimmy of Hartsville and Elizabeth Wilkinson and her husband Brian of Columbia; loving companion, Johnnie Cusack of Sumter; one brother, Dave Swick and his wife Judy of Jane Lew, WV; one sister, Barbara Skinner and her husband Randy of Bridgeport, WV; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Harris, William Raymond Swick IV, Sabrina McLeod, Brandon Swick, Brooke Capps, Blake Wetherby, Matthew Wilkinson and Jacob Wilkinson; eight great grandchildren, Kylie, Kimmie, Benjamin, William Raymond Swick V, Helena, Anthony, Taylor and Emily; and special nephew, Jimmy Joe Swick of Chapin.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Daphne Ann Swick; brother, James Joseph Swick and great grandchild, Autumn Harper Capps.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
