Glenna Bagby Robertson



Sumter, SC ……. Glenna Bagby Robertson, age 94, beloved wife of the late James C Robertson, died peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born in Olmstead, KY, she was the daughter of the late, Charles Harold Bagby and Sadie Betty Wood Bagby. She was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church for sixty years where she taught Children’s and Adult Ladies Sunday School and sang in the Senior Choir. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She painted over 380 oil paintings. She received many honors over the years to include: the NBSC Traveling Show and Purchase Award, Fall Fiesta, State Fair Art Awards and Sumter Exhibits. Her final show was “Art from the Heart” at Covenant Place in 2015.

She is survived by: one son, James Wayne Robertson and his wife Adinah of Nashville, TN; two daughters, Debra R. Ellis and her husband James of Pawleys Island, SC and Darla R. Turner and her husband Kevin of Fishers, Indiana; six grandchildren, Sarah Ellis Duvall and her husband Marc, James Brockington Ellis, III, Brian Turner, Jason Turner and his wife Beth, Caroline Turner and Marcus Short and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Eunice Blick, Geneva Reed and Louise Downing and her twin brother, Charles Harold Bagby, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Clay Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Sarah Ellis Duvall, James Brockington Ellis, III, Brian Turner, Caroline Turner and Jason Turner.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 –11:00 am one-hour prior to the service at Bullock Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, 2017.
