Sumter, SC .............. Robert Bryan Harrell, age 70, died on Tuesday, January 09, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late Glenn Washington Harrell Sr. and Mildred Maxine Glenn Harrell. Robert worked as a pilot car driver and loved to travel, especially to locations that he had never been before. He was a fun loving man but always worked hard. Robert served his country proudly in the US Army as a fuel truck driver, serving in the Vietnam War before retiring. His passion and joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. All who knew him will dearly miss him.
Surviving are: two sons, Kelly Harrell of Ridgeland, SC and Sammy Harrell and his wife Priscilla of Sumter; two daughters, Brandie Stone and her husband Jody of Sumter and Shannon Bennett of Darlington; one sister, Martha Nevins of Ridgeland; twelve grandchildren, Dagien, Dakota, Ashton, Layna, Jayden, Dalton, Grayson, Landon, Rainee, Sage, Paxton and Lettie and three great grandchildren, Madison, Carter and McKenzie; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and his former wife and the mother of his children, Susan McLeod.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in by one brother, Rev. GW Harrell; one sister, Barbara Harrell and two grandchildren, Adalynn and baby Stone.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of Robert's son, Sammy Harrell.

I consider Robert as a dear friend although we haven’t seen each other in years. I am so happy that he had a close relationship with God first and then family. He will always remain in my heart.
