Mary Eleanor Jackson Justice



Mary Eleanor Jackson Justice, age 70, died on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at her residence.

Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late James Herbert Jackson and Florence Griffin Jackson. Eleanor played college basketball for Winthrop University and was an avid fly fisherman. She is remembered by her children as one of the strongest women they knew. She was caring and compassionate and always put the needs of others before her own. She was a devote Christian and loved spending and sharing time with her family and was a faithful wife for over 40 years. She was a member of the Church of the Ascension.

Surviving are her children, Danny Wayne Justice, Jr. and his wife Maria, Eleanor James Hanson and her husband Erik and Mary Christiane Justice all of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren, Jasmine, J.D., Isabella, James Herbert, Ava, Emma Drew, Ashleigh and Britney.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Jackson and Eddie Jackson.

A graveside service will be on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Bethesda Cemetery with the Rev. T. Creighton Jones, Archbishop Emeritus officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethesda Church, 6310 Catchall Road, Dalzell, SC 29040.

The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.
