Edward Robert Miller



Edward Robert Miller, age 79, beloved husband of 52 years to the late Linda Raye Elam Miller, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 with his family by his side.

Born in Portland, Oregon, he was the son of the late Edward Lloyd Miller and Delvina M. Charbonneau Swadner. Mr. Miller retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant, after 24 years of dedicated service. He served in Vietnam and Korea. During his time in service, he received many awards including: the Joint Service Commendation Medal, USAF Commendation Medal with two Bronze Oak Leafs, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Citation with "V" and two Bronze Oak Leafs, US Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two Bronze Oak Leafs, Army Good Conduct Medal with two Bronze Loops, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with Silver Oak Leaf, US Air Force Arms Expert and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, he went on to retire from Kaydon Plant # 4 as a Design Manufacturing Draftsman for the Engineering Department. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 15 and was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Skies Catholic Faith Community. Mr. Miller loved everyone and was a friend to all. His hobbies included fishing, bowling and building scale model airplanes.

He is survived by two sons, Glen Alan Miller and his wife Maureen and Scott Evan Miller and his companion Wanda; two daughters, Teresa Miller Temples and her husband Christopher Chestnut; Connie Miller Jennings and her husband Edward, one brother, William B. Miller and his wife Janet; one sister, Barbara Sillmann and her husband Lee; nine grandchildren, Krista Leigh Miller, 1st Lt. Evan Alan Miller, Wesley Scott Miller, Logan Nicholas Miller, Kyndall Temples Beach and her husband John Eric Beach, Kelly Marie Temples, Chad Ryan Temples, Travis A. Jennings and his wife Marilyn, CPT Garrett R. Jennings and his wife Rachel; and three great granddaughters, Brooklyn A. Jennings, Abigail G. Jennings and Marlowe R. Jennings.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Lloyd Miller, one sister, Linda Miller and a son-in-law, Gary D. Temples.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 4:00 -6:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
